Jillian Mendez is a Trinidadian born, raised in Toronto, Canada vocalist and songwriter.She began singing when she was two years old. Her musical genres are Jazz, R&B, Soul, Classical and sights Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and Patti LaBelle as her influences. Jillian won Vocal Warz award that was televised on Much Music. She released her first single "Get Up" that went to #36 on the Club Chart in the UK including Germany, Spain and Australia for 3 weeks. Jillian co-wrote the Juno nominated R&B dance single "Destiny". She then signed to 4th and Broadway/Island Records and released a remake of Roberta Flack's, "Feel Like Making Love" on their compilation along with such artists as Dream Warriors and Boo-Yar Tribe. Throughout her career she has recorded numerous jingles and voiceover work for companies such as Kraft, CBC, Suzuki and Club Med. She also was the opening act for the R&B band "Midnight Star" and was the female vocalist for Juno nominated R&B band, "Something Extra". Jillian appeared on "Electronic Circus" numerous times, and in the movie "Sing" starring Lorraine Bracco and Patti LaBelle and when Miss LaBelle stated "that girl can sing". She has worked for Royal Caribbean Cruises and performed at the Apollo Theatre. Jillian continues to record and perform live.
